As you all know, CHW's mission is to raise funds for our projects supporting Children, Healthcare, and Women in Israel and Canada. Our major fundraising drive in support of this effort is the Annual Campaign, launced in March. In April, Toronto Centre is hosting Hope & Inspiration, their Annual Campaign launch, featuring Dr. Tami Karni as a guest speaker. Dr. Karni will also be speaking at Montreal Centre's Pursuing Health event on Wednesday, April 24. I encourage you to attend one of these events if you are able to do so.

As Medical Director of the CHW M. Fanny Comprehensive Breast Care Institute, Dr. Karni is one of the individuals whose efforts save the lives of women in the battle against breast cancer. Your gift to the Annual Campaign helps provide the Breast Care Institute with state-of-the-art equipment, so women can receive same day test results and immediate treatment if necessary. By giving to CHW's Annual Campaign you're also supporting children and women in need.

Without the resources that make learning and growing possible, CHW's six daycare centres would only be buildings. Your gift to the Annual Campaign helps ensure our dayscares have the essentials curious toddlers need for their development, meaning each child is being prepared for the future they deserve. And, speaking of children, funds given to the Annual Campaign also help struggling single mothers.

Imagine you're a single mother. Raising a child alone can be overwhelming, especially if you're raising a youth with developmental difficulties. By giving to CHW's Annual Campaign, your money is funding the WIZO Parental Hotline, a free service staffed by trained volunteers who offer a listening ear and advice to parents.

On another note, the coming month of May will mark the 65th anniversary of the birth of the State of Israel, a once in a lifetime occassion that I hope you can all take time to reflect on. It is my hope that this special anniversary helps to inspire CHW members to raise this year's campaign goal of $1.4 million.
