Inspiration for Terry's Cookbook
Terry was a wife, a mother, a grandmother. She was a local Canadian Hadassah-WIZO (CHW) member and CHW National President. She was a hiker, dragon boat racer, cross-country skier, and so much more. She was an amazing cook. Terry was a friend to so many, those she knew and many that she did not know. One of the charities that Terry championed is the CHW Terry Schwarzfeld Ottawa Daycare Centre located in Acco, Israel.
On February 28, 2009, Terry was vacationing in Barbados with her family, when she and her daughter-in-law, Luana, were accosted and brutally beaten by a mugger. Luana recovered but Terry died from her injuries on March 18, 2009. Terry was 60 years old. Extensive media coverage captured the tragedy of her death. This book celebrates her life - her love of food and nature - her strong connections to community - and the family and friends who love and miss her.
All proceeds from the book sales go to the CHW Terry Schwarzfeld Ottawa Daycare Centre.
