Phantom Tea

A big thank you to all the generous contributors to Negev Chapter's "Phantom Tea". This year's tea was co-chaired by Sandy Bennett and Harriet Podolak. A draw was held for a framed acrylic painting on canvas depicting a winter scene painted by Sylvia Friedman called "Near Pakenham". The proceeds to the tea support CHW projects in Israel including the Terry Schwarzfeld Ottawa Daycare Centre.

Tea Honouring Inez Zelikovitz

On Mother's Day, May 8th, the Amit, Mollie Betcherman and Ina McCarthy chapters of CHW Ottawa were pleased to honour Inez Zelikovitz at their annual Spring Tea. Ingrid Levitz generously opened her home for the tea. A young 94, Inez Zelikovitz has become a renowned and much admired philanthropist. With her mother Henrietta Weiss as a role model, Inez's heart has always been with CHW. Terry Schwarzfeld z'l was like a daughter to her, and they shared a mutual support of the goals of CHW. Inez has chosen the Sarah Wetsman Davidson Tower at the Hadassah Hospital, Jerusalem, as the beneficiary of donations to the tea. This 19-storey complex will provide cutting-edge clinical care to everyone regardless of religion or background, as well as training for medical professionals, groundbreaking research, and technological advances. The tower is slated to open in 2012. All the tea arrangements ran very smoothly under the skilled guidance of co-chairs Susana Bleuer and Candice Wilder.
