Eva and Ernest Braun Wall of Honour

History of the Wall

In 1994, Eva Braun made a generous donation to the CHW Toronto Centre in honour of her beloved husband Ernest's 90th Birthday. The Eva and Ernest Braun Wall of Honour in the CHW Toronto Boardroom came to fruition in March 1995 after Ernest's passing. Since its inception, 154 stars have been dedicated, for a total of almost $279,000.00.

Occasions

You may choose any life cycle opportunity to honour a loved one. Stars that have been purchased to date include:

• Special birthdays, anniversaries and honouring a life achievement
• Honouring a Bar or Bat Mitzvah
• Chapters honouring a special member, anniversary or life cycle event
• In memoriam of a family member, friend or chapter member

Where the Money Goes

The funds donated to CHW Toronto are allocated specifically to whichever of our projects in Israel the recipient wishes to designate. For example, your donation may help Assaf Harofeh Medical Centre, a Youth village or a WIZO Services day care centre to name several of the options. The only difference is that the plaque for the donation is placed in our boardroom and not at the specified project in Israel. This way, whenever you are in the office you can admire your star.

How It Works

At any time a star can be upgraded to the next category simply by adding the additional funds. Several times a year a 'Star Dedication' takes place in our boardroom. Your guests are invited and there is an opportunity to speak about the "Star" that has been contributed.
