CHW Netanya Technological High School
Established in 1972, the CHW Netanya Technological High School began as a Youth Aliyah study centre maintained by the Jewish Agency of Israel. In 1997, CHW Netanya Technological School came under the care of the Netanya Municipality and Ministry of Education.
The CHW Netanya Technological High School gives students the opportunity to prepare themselves for a bright future and the chance to acquire an education and an accredited vocation. The school has undergone a process of updating vocations offered to better suit the modern world and better prepare their graduates for success. Students learn vocations from a wide range of occupational possibilities from hairdressing to business management, automotive mechanics, hotel management and hosting, media and communications and recently, the world-renowned CISCO computer-programming course. It is a long school day for these students, and a hot meal is provided for them at lunchtime. Through CHW’s support, select students participate in the March of the Living. Similarly, others benefit from the Transportation Program, ensuring they are able to attend school. CHW also supports the Patisserie Program, offering students the chance to study with a professional chef, moving on to careers in the field.
Each year – thanks to your generous gifts – we sponsor students at the CHW Netanya Technological High School so that they can participate in the March of the Living, a two week, once-in-a-lifetime experience that takes place in Poland and Israel. Last year, we added a very exciting new dimension to the CHW March of the Living, especially for our supporters! We followed two of the students, Eli and Jeniya, through their participation in the program, from classes to the actual March. We wanted you to be able to learn with them. And to read, in their own words, how this experience impacted their lives. Visit their blog here.
