For over 60 years, twin sisters, Carol and Charlotte, have been tirelessly supporting CHW.

Carol is a past Tikvah Chapter president. She co-chaired Calgary Centre card parties, Youth Aliyah/Youth Services and the Annual Campaign.

Charlotte is a past Eleanor Roosevelt Chapter president. She chaired Medical Aid Teas, was an accompanist in CHW musical productions, Tikvah Chapter communications chair and volunteered with the Hadassah Bazaar as the bingo chair.

The Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Unit (PCCCU) at Hadassah Hospital, Ein Kerem, is close to the twins’ hearts because Carol was one of the first survivors of heart surgery in 1949 at age 7 when heart surgeries just began to be performed. Again, Carol survived heart surgery in 1958 at age 15 and was one of the first patients in an ICU when ICUs were established.
