Yom Kippur is the Day of Atonement in the Jewish religion. It is thought by many to be one of the holiest days of the year. This holiday is observed through fasting and praying. This meaningful holiday is taught to the children in the daycares and schools. Annually, the students from CHW Netanya Technological High School travel to Jerusalem to visit the Kotel (Western Wall.) This visit is to teach the children the meaning behind the holidays and to give them an opportunity to recite “selichot,” meaning forgiveness.
