Hadassah-WIZO Edmonton Centre is looking forward to an important fundraiser in the spring of 2017 – the Casino at WEM that we provide staffing for, is on June 27th + 28th . Please save the date!
Karen Farkas is once again managing the volunteer schedule and can be reached by e-mail, if you would like to add your name to the list.
The event will take place On Sunday, August 27, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Trolley Station in the lovely Britannia Park, located at 102 Greenview Avenue, north of Carling Avenue. Parking is available adjacent to the Trolley Station.
This will be a fun, family-friendly event and all are welcome to attend. The more, the merrier! Light refreshments will be served, but please bring non-disposable water bottles.
The funds raised will help support The Terry Schwarzfeld Ottawa Daycare Centre, located in Acco, Israel. The centre provides daily care to over 57 children (infants, toddlers, and preschoolers) who come from a variety of backgrounds. Some of them are referred through a welfare referral program, as their families are in desperate need of this assistance.
The Terry Schwarzfeld Ottawa Daycare Centre also provides home support services. A team of professionals, including a psychologist, an occupational therapist, and a speech therapist, works individually with all children (and their families) who have a learning disability and/or behavioral issues. The team establishes a treatment plan to assist with cognitive, motor, emotional, and psychological issues, thereby providing the necessary preparation for each child’s future.
Your donation will make a difference for these children and their families who depend on the daycare centre each day.
